How to tell if you are healthy or not?
Being fat, or overweight doesn’t mean that you are healthy. Being slim doesn’t mean that you are ill. To understand how healthy you are, you need to check your heart health and your metabolic health. For this you can do few tests which are simple and cheap to understand your metabolic health. These include:
Fasting insulin: should be less than 5
Fasting blood glucose: should be less than 90
Cholesterol (triglycerides) less than 100
Cholesterol (HDL) more than 60
Cholesterol (LDL) less than 150
To check your heart health, you need to do some exercises to calculate your VO2 max rate. This can be by walking 1.6 km or by running 2.4 km.
